Dean and I had a few too many cocktails last night and, boy, did I feel it when I woke up today… Nevertheless, I was up and out the door by 9am to grab breakfast with Eric and Nate. We went to Voula’s where I drowned my morning malaise in hot cocoa, homemade biscuits, and a ‘Naked Hobo’ (a tremendous plate of scrambled eggs with mushrooms, peppers, onions, hashbrowns and feta cheese). Voula’s is definitely one of the best diners in Seattle. Casual, friendly, giant portions. It reminds me of a place my dad used to take me as a kid- very homey.
Afterwards, we went to Allegro, a lovely, tucked-away cafe in the University District. I started knitting a new scarf for Dean with the hope I’ll finish it in time for Christmas. This is the third scarf I’ve knitted him, making it sort of a winter tradition. His other two scarves are cranberry and navy but orange is his favorite color. :)
