Birthday Bash, Monster Mash

Last night, Dean and I went to Angela’s monster-themed birthday party. I LOVE theme parties and Halloween and silliness in general so I’d have to say this is one of the best birthday parties I’ve ever been to! It’s impossible to choose a favorite costume because my friends are so creative! Angela was dressed up as Medusa, Kristy as the Flying Spaghetti Monster, Nate as Torgo from Manos: The Hands of Fate, Ian as Vagina Dentata. So good!

Here are a couple pictures of Frankenstein and the Wolf-Man beating each other up.

My attempt to make monster faces on the cupcakes was a bit of a bust. The icing mouths came out a little ugly (runny, yuck!). Luckily, the multi-colored guts came out spectacularly and tasted the way I used to imagine Play Doh would taste- delicious! I got this pretty idea from this tutorial on The Dainty Squid.

Dean and I dressed up as a Day of the Dead couple. I made Mexican paper flower garlands and we ghouled up our faces. These are our uncharacteristically grave (harhar) expressions.
